Airframed is a collecting game for aircraft. You photograph a plane, and the app
identifies it and adds it to your collection.
This policy describes exactly what the app collects, where it goes, and what it
does not do. It is written against what the software actually does.
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive from that provider:
to us without revealing your password or provider account.
with Apple* and choose Hide My Email, we receive Apple's private relay
address, never your real one. Your email may also be absent entirely, and the
app works without it. We use it for one thing: a single thank-you email from
the developer after you sign up, sent from a personal Gmail account, with a
link to book a feedback call if you want to. No newsletters, no marketing
lists, and it is never shared.
We never receive your password. We do not ask for your name, phone number,
date of birth, or address.
When you photograph an aircraft:
grant permission — as a copy in your photo library.
Only the photos you pick are seen by the app; the rest of your library is
not. A chosen photo is treated exactly like one you take. Its date and
location are read on your device to date the catch and name the airport,
and are removed before the photo is uploaded.

duration of the request and discarded. We retain the *result* (the aircraft
type, its registration where one was legible, and the points it earned), not
the image. This record is what the leaderboard is scored from, so it is kept
for every account, whether or not you join the leaderboard.
A photograph of an aircraft can incidentally contain other things: faces,
vehicles, number plates, or a recognisable location. Please keep that in mind,
because that photograph is sent to a third party (Anthropic) to be read.
The leaderboard is opt-in. You are not listed on it unless you join. If you
join, you choose:
players see it next to your score.
It is used to show an airport leaderboard, and other players can see it.
When you first join, the app also sends a summary of catches you made before
the leaderboard existed (type, registration and when it was taken — never the
photo or the place), so that they count. Our server re-grades them itself.
You can leave the leaderboard at any time: turn off Show me on leaderboards
in Settings. Your display name stays reserved for your account so nobody else
can take it.
If you allow location access, the app works out on your phone which airport
you were at when you took a photo, and labels the catch with it. **Your
location and that airport are not sent to us**; only the photo is uploaded.
Location is used only while the camera is open. The home airport you may set on
the leaderboard is separate: you type it, and it is shared as described above.

request is *add-only*: it allows the app to save a copy of your own catches
and nothing else. Photos you choose to add come through the system photo
picker, which shares only those photos and needs no permission.
Your photographs are sent to Anthropic (the Claude API) for the sole purpose
of identifying the aircraft in them. This is the only third party that receives
your photographs.
Anthropic's handling of API data is governed by their own terms:

https://privacy.anthropic.com.
Used only to sign you in. We receive an identity token from them, as described
above. We do not post anything to your account or read anything from it.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or disclose it to anyone
else, except where we are legally required to.

revoked.
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Account. This is a
real deletion, not a deactivation: your sessions are revoked, and your account
record, leaderboard profile and catch records are removed from our database.
Deleting your account does not delete the photographs on your phone, because
those were always yours. Remove them by deleting catches in the app, or from
your photo library if you saved copies there.
Airframed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from them.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the new
version will be published here before it takes effect.
